Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to check out my content. This blog is a collection of writings covering my life, my experiences and my travels. I intend to share some tips and recommendations from all my travels, while simultaneously writing about some of the experiences I’ve made over the course of these trips and journeys. Ideally, you find some of it useful for your own itineraries and find some inspiration yourselves.
With this blog, my intention is to honor my voice, my gut, my instinct and the advice I’ve been receiving from my inner circle for a long time: you should start a blog.
I got to be honest: I’ve been holding this off for more than 10 years. While I’ve always been passionate about writing, I never felt comfortable sharing my voice openly.
I kept telling myself I was too young and inexperienced with nothing worthy to write about. Now I came to understand how fear of failure and self-doubt were holding me back. The first question that you might ask, is the same one I kept asking myself:
What do I possibly have to say that could be of interest to you?
Well, frankly, that’s up to you to decide. But with turning 30, I finally decided it’s time to go for it and trust my impulse that has been there all along: to write.
As the name The Blonde Yeti already gives away, I’m a blonde, curious and extroverted female in her early 30s who is working on creating a life she truly enjoys to the fullest. Passionate about traveling, reading and writing, as well as intrigued by what it means to be human, I see this blog as a forum to bring these topics together.
I grew up surrounded by vineyards, mountains and castles – in short: countryside. Sheltered and picture-perfect, the Palatine Region (Zum Wohl. Die Pfalz.) is what I call “home” and a place that has inevitably shaped my upbringing. Back in 2012 I graduated from high school with the intention of becoming a dentist. More than 10 years later, I couldn’t be further from that reality.
“Since then, instead of pulling teeth and filling cavities, I’ve been exploring the world and myself.“
Since I left home more than a decade ago, I have both studied and worked abroad and visited over 30 countries. I speak five languages (some fluent, some intermediate and some barely) and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English as well as a Master’s degree in International Management. My most recent career development was a step into a leadership role at a tech company.

Despite the risk of going a bit too deep here, to me, a part of the meaning of life, our duty so to speak, is to figure out what our own happy lives look like. While we all share universal human needs and desires, and might have similar requirements for our happy lives, in the end, you are one of a kind. Hence, life is too short and precious to build one to please others. Everyone’s idea of happiness is unique. Sometimes it takes some introspective soul-searching to define what you want out of life, sometimes it requires trial and error. But I learned that by being clear about my values and priorities for what brings me the most joy, my life has become easier and more fulfilled. That being said, I came to realize that my happy life consists of exploring the world, connecting with others, learning new things and improving myself while keeping my friends and family close.
A beautiful life is not stumbled upon, it is built. It is chosen. It is nurtured over the years.
A beautiful life is made from the heart, not the head. It is not one we can rationalize our way into, it’s one that must be felt.
A beautiful life is not one that is immediately comfortable, but one grown through the acknowledgement of what is worth being uncomfortable for. It is not one that is easy, it is one that is worth it.
